MEET JU.

Growing up in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Ju’s original musical inspiration was his mom playing the organ at church. Eager to be part of the music team too, he learned drums at the age of 6. When he moved to the Turks and Caicos Islands as a teenager, he was further influenced by his dad listening to and singing along to the likes of Steel Pulse, Luther Vandross, and Bob Marley. But it was really a simple piece of advice from his dad that helped him find his voice – ‘if you are going to play an instrument, pick up a mic’.

So Ju picked up a mic and soon after was getting invitations to concerts and then to leave the islands and play at events around the world. Sharing the stage with global acts, it was something beyond what ‘lil Ju’ had ever dreamed possible.

With tourism taking off in the Turks and Caicos, there soon became opportunities to perform for global audiences right here at home. Sought after by the island’s top resorts and for exclusive events and weddings, Ju spends most of the year now on the island of Provo – however he still sneaks off to Brazil, France, and elsewhere when events call his name. He also recently wrote a song ‘Gonna be Rich’ for the critically acclaimed 2019 movie ‘Inside Game’.

You can call him Ju, but he is also known on the island as the man with the golden voice.
